Huntingdon Factory Gains ISO Certification
Hydro-Gear is pleased to announce that its newest factory in Huntingdon, TN has achieved ISO 9001 certification. Plans to open the company’s fourth manufacturing site were initially made public in May. The factory started limited production on schedule this fall and plans to ramp up to rate early next year. “We take great pride in our product quality, our processes, and everything we do, there was never any doubt that we would reach this milestone so quickly,” said Mike Todd, VP of Operations.
Receiving certification will allow the company to expand the number of customers served by the new location. As the company continues to bring more capacity on line, it’s expecting to invest $10 million and employ 375 people here. The company says it has received tremendous support from the local community. “The people in Huntingdon and the surrounding Carroll County area have really welcomed us here. We’re excited about the response we’ve seen and the interest we’re getting from potential employees. It looks like an excellent fit for us and the community – and that’s important. We look for that in all the areas we choose to operate,” added Mike Todd.
Mike McCoy, VP of Sales and Marketing, said customers are excited too, “Our customer demand has been strong so they have been watching the developments here closely as well. They are looking forward to the flexibility this additional capacity is going to offer them.”
Richard Hatchett, Plant Manager at Huntingdon observed, “We’ve come a long way in a short period of time. There’s still more work to do but I’m excited about where we are going. We intend to make this a flagship operation for Hydro-Gear.”
