Job Description Summary

The Business Growth Engineer will lead the company's market and product strategy development and execution. Candidates with experience in researching industry trends, developing new product proposals, and presenting the findings to executive management will be considered. For approved projects, this individual will be involved with the product development team to provide market input to sales, engineering, and manufacturing. This position involves interaction with all disciplines within the business, including working closely with the executive management team. The Business Growth Engineer plays a critical role in the organization's success and ability to achieve ambitious growth goals. The ideal candidate must have past success in developing product and/or market strategies.

The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, organized, and analytical with enthusiasm for developing and communicating ideas into development programs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both individuals and teams are also critical requirements.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate strategic discussions with executive management to determine future development programs
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research directly with end users, dealers, and OEMs
  • Organize and conduct Voice of Customer activities to help determine product requirements
  • Provide competitive intelligence and monitoring
  • Assist in transitioning projects from the idea phase into the new product development process
  • Support development teams with market input and lead Go to Market activities
  • Develop value propositions to assist sales personnel
  • Communicate development project and development idea status to department managers
  • ​Up to 30% domestic and/or international travel​

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A/B.S) from four-year college or university with emphasis in engineering or a technical field, MBA preferred
  • 10-15 years related experience within a technical or industrial position
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, or drive systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
