Job Description Summary

Provide detailed designs of components and assemblies to support research and development of new product concepts and prototypes. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed designs of components and assemblies; other applicable drawing standards to support advanced development
  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerance methods to designs
  • Apply advanced drawing techniques in NX CAD software
  • Support advanced development with analysis of tolerances, procurement of prototype components, building prototype units, and testing
  • Participate in research and development of new components, methods, and materials for application of products
  • Support external and internal advanced analysis of components including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and vibration analysis
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.  Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. 

Education and/or Experience

  • Certificate (2 year) in computer aided design and/or A.S. degree and three to five years’ work experience with emphasis in Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) software
  • Strong working knowledge of Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) software
  • Working knowledge of industrial components or machines, controls and motors
  • Self-motivated with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
