Job Description Summary

Research and develop new product concepts and prototypes. Investigate new materials and processes. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research potential new product developments, new processes
  • Design and develop new products and components that provide innovative solutions to customer needs
  • Analyze the requirements, capabilities and performance of these products
  • Design, develop, and lead tests to qualify new products and to support changes to existing products
  • Use CAD programs to develop concepts and designs
  • Procure components and services for development of prototype hardware
  • Assemble and evaluate the performance of prototype hardware
  • Be instrumental in cost avoidance and cost reduction activities
  • Communicate at all levels regarding the technical details of new and existing products.
  • Work with Intellectual Property department to ensure appropriate protection of new product ideas.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.  Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S./BSME) from four-year college or university and three to five years’ work experience in a hydraulic component related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of leading product development projects.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and/or hydraulic component manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in drive train design and development a plus
  • Must have working knowledge of Project Management Software, MS Office, MiniTab, CAD software
  • Self-motivated with ability to take ownership and participate in “hands-on” projects
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
