Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer – Smartec will be defining manufacturing and assembly methods or processes as well as the design, development, deployment and ongoing maintenance of manufacturing systems to support production requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct or assist with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and 3P reviews
  • Conduct assembly time studies of products in active development
  • Create requirements documents that define processes, equipment and validation testing
  • Perform ergonomic analysis and testing
  • Create mechanical, electrical, software and user interface designs for production line and stations
  • Define/create test and maintenance plan for proper work cell operation
  • Coordinate testing and resolution of line related product quality issues
  • Implement and lead projects to address line improvement opportunities
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain safe, clean, orderly work environment
  • Supervisor direct production labor

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of Project Management Software, MS Office, MiniTab, CAD software, and National Instruments LabView
  • Demonstrated strong ability to apply in frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  • Communication of details both orally and in writing regarding technical details of product manufacturing and assembly
